I purchased this mic for use with my Canon Vixia camcorder. I was not aware this mic was designed specifically for use with mobile devices when I ordered it. But once I received it and tested it out on my camera, I thought I wasted my money.Then I thought to myself, let me try it with my phone.EXCELLENT.I'm a small YouTuber and I do interviews, some of which are done with me behind the camera recording to my phone. Not only is this mic perfect for that, its quality is equal to that of the lapel mic I ended up having to fix. That mic was excellent but inconvenient due to its excessively long cable. This mic is the perfect length for recording with my phone on a table or in my holster without a bunch of wire spilling all over.Thought I made a poor purchase because I didn't read clearly. Turns out I made a great choice and didn't realize how good it was. I wish it had been clearer that it was for mobile devices, though.

If you do YouTube videos, Facebook live, or record outside at all on to your camera or iPhone android phone or any other devices to record on you need an external mic. There’s a ton of mics to choose from. I found Momo to be a great partner and microphones and other components at a reasonable price. This would been a five star review if the original cord that is on the microphone would’ve been longer. You think anybody knows that if you’re doing videos if you’re using a tripod, or even propping your phone up on your pop can you need a longer cord than they provide. It only makes sense. Other than that I’m very happy.Because Amazon won’t let you put a link to a different product than the product you’re reviewing I recommend that you look on my profile page and you’ll see a review to a great extension cord for this microphone. At a later date all at several videos done with this microphone it is fairly amazing the great sound the low voice capture the ability to stop the wind noise and give the presence of a much more expensive microphone.

I bought this for a class and it works great. The wire is kind of short so you’ll probably need to buy an extender cord. The little poofy part of the microphone is always falling off so you need to keep an eye on it to make sure you don’t lose it. Overall, great value for the price, but if you’re a professional or aspiring filmmaker, I would go with something better. But if you’re a student who needs one for a project, this is great!

This mic sounds very similar to the iPhone internal mic. I took a quick snapshot of a pink noise comparison between the two. The gain is not as different as the photo shows, the volume on recordings using this mic is pretty similar to the internal, just slightly quieter.I compared this mic to an Audio Technica Pro70

If you’re going from no mic to your first lav mic, this is about the best you can expect to get for the price.Pros:- Infinite improvement over nothing- Cheap, cheap, cheapCons:- Seems a little hotI’d also recommend checking out the Boya BY-M1 as well as the Power DeWise, as I think they’re maybe a little bit better for just a few dollars more, but for as cheap as this is, I’m impressed.I’d still recommend the Røde SmartLav+ (or their other lav mic) over this (or the Giant Squid) if you can afford it (renewed or used will be fine), but this is certainly better than your built-in or on-camera mic if you want to improve your video quality on the cheap.For a sound comparison check out “Mic Shootout: Best Value & Budget Lavs under $50 – Røde, Giant Squid, Boya, Movo, Power DeWise”.

I’m a Christian singer and speaker, and have been thinking about ways that I can use my God-given gifts to spread the Gospel message, and this item will be an instrument for me to do that. If I ever get inspiration to write a song or give a sermon, I can speak into my phone or laptop with clarity and minimal background noise, without having to project my voice to be heard which would happen with mics in phones and computers. I got this item today and am impressed with the sound quality recorded with this microphone. The only reason I have given it 4 stars is because, in order to hear what’s been recorded, you have to disconnect the mic from your device. At least that’s how it is with the phone, I haven’t checked to see if this happens on computer too, but will update my review with my findings once I try it out. Overall a great investment!

I originally won a Movo at a sound class and figured it would probably be okay, but instead I found the sound quite clear…a huge step up from the IPhone mic. I was wrong ( and a little snobby about a $20 lavalier ). As an actor, my main job is to audition and now almost all auditions are either Self Tape or Zoom meetings. When I started using the Movo, my agent remarked about the sound difference ( positively !!! ) and I’m getting more interest and call backs since the change.I just bought a second for a backup along with a 10 foot audio extension cable…Hiding the mic is not a problem anymore.Thanks Movo for a great, inexpensive lavalier mic.

Good as a starter packageThere are mixed emotions for me with this microphone, I am a qualified sound engineer and although I didn’t expect miracles, I was pleasantly surprised.I bought this for a short run podcast which was being filed on the move with very little budget, I also had the opportunity to try out some of the high end lav mics which are £50+ although this is not near the quality of those microphones the quality is still good if you’re just starting out.This includes, first time vlogging, recording audio on the move etc..The pop shield I got with it was a little cheap so I bought a couple of better ones on Ebay and they really served me well in windy and close micing scenarios.This mic is incredibly easy to use: just plug it in, and you’re ready to go. I know some users have reported issues on their phone, but my Iphone and Pixel 3a both worked and I had no issues…sometimes it’s user error :)Would I buy these again? certainly for smaller projects, but if I was going to do static recording I would look to get a better condenser microphone.

Better than expectedIt's better than I expected so I am happy with my purchase. The main reason I bought it was to get rid of the noises that my phone picked up while I was filming and moving my hand around it to change my grip. This filters that out and you can only hear the my voice and surrounding noises, if any. I would recommend if you want something better than your phone's microphones.

Does the job.I didn’t think it would be up to scratch because it was cheaper than most but I’m very pleased with it. It’s perfect for using out and about too because it is light and comes with a little carry case.
