After the mute switch began failing on a G3 transmitter, we experimented with replacing it with a much less expensive brand set and as easy it was to set up, the static was terrible so we went and ordered this. It was the right decision. This set includes a really nice headset mike, and it was easy to set up (you must hold a button down on the transmitter while pointing it at the front of the receiver.) The sound quality is great–well-rounded, no super-bright highs and no booming unwanted lows, and there is also a volume level control on the face of the receiver. The overall volume level did seem a bit low but with a few tweaks at the board all is well. We have far less stray noise and static with this set than we had with the previous G3/G2 trans and receiver set we were using. The “mute” setting does not show on the display, you can easily tell though by the exposed icon at the mute switch. (red off, green on.) No problem with signal from 100 ft. away. When it comes to these kinds of products, you get what you pay for. Sennheiser makes great stuff. Hope this review was helpful.

My wife is a music teacher and performs at events. Noise and feedback is usually a problem when on small venues. The xsw killed all feedback, even whilw performing in front of a speaker. My wife is also a little clueless when it comes to setting up the equipment. The set up for the wireless system is so easy that I never had to do it again. Also, your channels preference remain the same, and the transmitters are automaticaly detected, even if you remove all power or batteries form them or receiver.10/10

Great mic, as all Sennheiser’s are. 4 stars are due to the plastic case on the receiver and the body pack – not the solid metal they used to use, so I know it will not have the same life in the gigging world as my metal one did and cannot give it a 5. otherwise great mic, awesome sound, easy to set up.

Amazing price and quality! I’m a drummer and sing so I didn’t want to have a microphone and stand getting in my way. I picked this up and it’s so simple to use “even a drummer can do it!” Perfectly clear sound quality, and great distance.
