It broke after 2 months of using. When plugged in, only the left channel works and at soft volume even when device is set at max volume. Right channel doesn’t work at all. Utterly disappointed with the durability and not to mention the comfort isn’t up to mark – ears starts to hurt after using it for half-hour.

Sound wise no complains, for the price there was a good bass, treble and highs. But will not recommend for long term use.

The Monoprice 8323 has been recommended by countless owners as THE over-the-ear headphone set to go for in this $20-$30 price range, and I must say, it lives up to its reputation. My headphones arrived in a very slick-looking, square, black box with a nice design to match. It came with all the stated parts, of which I absolutely loved the extra-long, DJ-style cable which is used to connect the headphones to the source audio device.

My first impression of the headphones, was that they were quite flexible, yet sturdily built. This isn’t a pair of headphones that is going to go bad in a few months unless you’re really careless with it, and even then, it feels like it can take a beating. However, do note that the entire headphones are plastic (albeit strong), aside from the pads at the top and the ear cushions. For $25-ish average, build quality is outstanding. That being said, I did purchase a replacement ear cushion set because of reports that the stock cushions could get a bit uncomfortable. The answer? It’s true. I HIGHLY recommend buying replacement cushions if you are going to have the headphones on for about an hour or more. I kept the stock cushions on until I felt the fatigue from my ears (after around 3 hours). After changing them, there was noticeably much less stress on my ears and I felt quite comfortable with them on. But, no matter what, your head may get tired from the headphones after many hours, because the headphones has a gentle, but firm grip onto your head and gently pushes inwards. It’s up to you whether that is a deal-breaker, but simply resting my ears for a couple minutes does me fine after hours of use.

I’m a bass addict, so when looking for a pair of headphones to buy, I did my research, and boy did it deliver. Bass is top-notch, and only gets better when utilizing various equalizers in order to maximize the type of sound you want to hear. However, if there’s any aspect of the sound that wasn’t top-notch, it would be the mids and highs. They were good enough for my usage, but they didn’t stand out as anything quite amazing. You may have to use eq boosts in order to get the right sound, but in the end it’s very much worth it.

I’ve covered the important parts of the headphones so I’ll just state why I decided to get this one instead of another similarly priced headphone. The detachable cable is one of the biggest selling point for me, as I’ve struggled in the past with headphones that eventually die due to wires shorting out or not giving the right connection in some way. Now, I’ll be able to replace the cable any time I like, with even longer ones if needed. It’s perfect for a long-lasting pair of headphones, and I strongly suggest you consider the price value in that alone. This can potentially save you 90% of the cost of a new headphone for years once you treat it right.

So in closing, keep it clean and keep it safe and you’ll have one of the longest lasting, highest quality, cheapest and most reliable pair of headphones for years at this price. Definitely recommend for anyone wishing to get a good pair of headphones without spending much.

First and foremost, the shipping only took 2 or 3 days, which is extremely prompt and I sincerely appreciate that. Now, the box I received was a little bent up, but the product inside was still perfect. The headphones are made out of high quality ABS plastic, and feel sturdier than I imagined. The cushions are also much more comfortable than I thought due to the negative reviews about them. I for one actually do like pleather and they were perfect for me! The headband cushions are basically leather air bags that inflate and deflate depending on where the most pressure is coming from (from your head of course). The swiveling ear cups is a HUGE bonus so now I can actually share my songs with people when before it was much more difficult. The detachable jack is stupendous at this price point and was one of the biggest selling points for me that convinced me to buy this. I was one of the few people that bought the Audiobahn Blaze headphones and those have NOTHING on these. The blazes have a terrible fit, are made out of cheap material, have mediocre sound and are cheap rebrandings of the iHome headphones, although their braided cable was nice. I digress, now to the most important part of the review, sound quality. That is also fantastic for this price point. It sounds like my gaming headphones hooked up to my PC sound card when it is just plugged into my ipod. Albeit, I used the EQ player app to improve the slightly rolled off highs, but this feat in itself is INCREDIBLE. The bass is boomy without being distorted, and the most bassy songs I have are not distorted whatsoever, unlike on my audiobahn blazes and generic earbuds. The mids are crisp and clear as crystal, with vocals and guitar chords sounding perfect! The highs are rolled off, but my EQ app fixed the problem and now they are golden to me! The last thing to be mentioned was the noise cancelling. These headphones use passive noise cancelling like the street by 50 cent headphones. For those who do not know, that is when the ear cups surround your ears and the headphones compress around your head, creating a seal not only to block outside noise, but also to keep your music in. Yes, there is very little sound leakage and that is another major part of these EXTREMELY inexpensive headphones. And the noise cancelling is great although in louder places you will still hear a murmur. Now, if you are around a drumline alot (marching band geek here dude) their drums will come through, however they don’t make your ears hurt from the harsh taps in a normal listening environment. Yes these headphones will be good for protecting your hearing if you’re in a drumline too! Lastly, the cables that came with the headphones were relatively cheap quality, so i bought a monoprice, 6ft white cable for the car. It is a little thick, but much higher quality and the sound is slightly better on them too. Ultimately these are my permanent headphones as they do every single thing i’ve ever wanted in headphones. If you do get them, get a new cable too. I totally recommend these, listen to the countless reviews over the internet, THESE ARE AMAZING FOR THE PRICE!
