The Audio-Technica AT2020USB+ condenser microphone is a remarkable choice for those seeking an exceptional recording experience. With a focus on simplicity and quality, this microphone is tailored for singers, podcasters, and creators looking to elevate their audio game without a steep learning curve.
At the core of its features is the condenser microphone itself, renowned for its studio-grade performance. The AT2020USB+ connects to your device effortlessly via USB, eliminating the need for complex setups or additional audio interfaces. It’s a true plug-and-play solution that streamlines the recording process.
One of its standout features is the cardioid polar pattern, ensuring that your recordings capture the intended sound source while effectively reducing background noise. This makes it ideal for vocals, single instrument recordings, and podcasting. The cardioid pattern is especially useful when you need to isolate your voice from ambient sounds.
To add convenience to your recording experience, the AT2020USB+ comes equipped with a built-in headphone jack. Real-time monitoring allows you to hear your recordings as they happen, enabling you to make necessary adjustments on the fly. This feature is especially valuable when recording vocals or podcasts, as it helps you achieve the best results with minimal hassle.
The microphone itself is built to last, with excellent shock mounting and a reliable pivoting stand mount. This durability ensures that your investment in the AT2020USB+ will serve you well for years to come. It’s a testament to Audio-Technica’s commitment to delivering quality audio equipment.
In the realm of pros, the AT2020USB+ boasts exceptional sound quality. The microphone captures audio with remarkable clarity and warmth, making it a fantastic choice for vocals and podcasting. Its budget-friendly price tag further adds to its appeal, offering impressive value for its cost. Moreover, the microphone’s ease of use and real-time monitoring capabilities are noteworthy advantages for both beginners and experienced users.
As for the cons, the microphone’s cardioid pattern, while excellent for isolating sound sources, may not be the most versatile choice for users looking to record multiple voices or instruments simultaneously. Additionally, it’s important to note that the AT2020USB+ exclusively offers USB connectivity, which may not suit advanced setups requiring XLR connections.
In conclusion, the Audio-Technica AT2020USB+ condenser microphone is a reliable and cost-effective option for those who prioritize sound quality and user-friendly features. If you’re a singer, podcaster, or content creator in search of a microphone that offers exceptional performance without the complexities of high-end equipment, the AT2020USB+ is an excellent choice that won’t disappoint.

When trying to live stream or at least record our church service, the audio coming through the audio panel was great but people singing hymns and hearing the ambient sounds of church was missing. I tried a condenser mic but it was too close to our air returns. found this mic with the long cord and laid them over our window trim on both sides of the church about 30 ft from the returns and the sound is great. Being white and small with an extremely small gage white wire allowed them to be almost invisible. I then run them to an ATEM mini through a phantom power supply by way of an xlr-1/8 audio cable. They pick up everything and can be used as the only input for a complete experience live stream. Very happy with these mics.

We put two of these on the platform of our church. They do an excellent job of picking up the congregational hymns for live streaming purposes.

Ideal choir mic. 25′ very thin cable easy to run over stage. Also comes with wire hanger to ensure proper angle. Shure advisors even showed me how to locate. Used seven of these on theatre stage for assistive listening system into an old Shure automixer – work great

Great value. Moderate coverage, takes a lot of eq carving to get any gain. However for the price and on a small stage, it works well.

Kind of hard to explain how we use these, but essentially two hang from a 9 foot ceiling in a room where we observe from behind a one-way mirror people who know they are being observed (no, we are not cops). I have set up rooms this way many times over the last 25 years and I have never had this quality of microphones available to me, especially not at this price. I was going to get a wireless for the employee being observed but after our trial run with two of these, I need not spend the money. The sound was crystal clear…like pin drop clear. I could hear people breathing. Shure has always made good mics and I own several, but this one is really the bomb.

Replaced existing floor mic’s for a choir. Excellent sound and quality. Improved the performance of the choir significantly.

We’re a small community theatre group and have 5 of these mics currently being used for a cast of ten. With good tech support from our crew, we can get by without the need for wireless mics and headsets.

I use this in a large area at work where we do GoToMeeting sessions. It picks up the whole room very well.
Note – you DO need a mixer of some sort with this as it uses phantom power and an XLR connector. I bought one of these:
Alesis IO2 Express | 2-Channel USB Recording Interface with 48V Phantom Power (24-bit / 48 kHz)
for it and it worked very well!

In the photo I uploaded if you look top center you’ll see the mic. I use it for the choir at my church. Its usually 3 to 6 people. Plenty of coverage and you can hear them. The angle and position matter on your feedback as with any mic. Its small enough nobody sees it.

I use it for stage dramas…..You can rely on it

I use these for classrooms and they work very well. 2 in the middle pointing away from each other a few inches down from the drop ceiling captures the whole room in any spot easily. Standard classroom size of 30 seats. Even in the corners it picks up speaking just fine.

We hung this in the ceiling of our baptismal. It picks up great sound quality with no feed back. It hangs about 1 ft from ceiling which is still about 3 feet from our heads. No issues and it came with plenty of cable!
