Amazing Mic. for the money (bundled with modeling software) I don’t think it can be beat in today’s marketplace.
I was amazed how it sounded beside my U-89 / U-87 etc. Time to buy the Slate small diaphragm Mic. as well to compare with my other Mics. Might be time to sell the “expensive” stuff?
One note: The ML-1 puts out much less volume than the Neuman Mics(~-15db). that I compared it to. However, my Mic. Preamps are quiet and can easily compensate without added noise.
Great investment!

As the title says. I’m not kidding, I didn’t even use the emulations on the last single I tracked with it. That’s how good this mic is. The emulations are good too.

FUN software. If you are a singer or use your voice in creative ways this mic has a lot of potential. The digital compressors and mixing strips are pretty cool. I have Slate Digital ALL ACCESS pass and with this mic the fun is endless. Wasn’t ready to spend $1100 on the awesome sounding WA-8000 so I “settled” for this for more than half off the price WA mic. Be prepared to add another $50 to the price for ilok thumb drive because the licenses for this mic is not ilok cloud compatible. Buy on sale and don’t look back.

This is just perfect….goodbye vintage microphone collection.

I actually love the sound of this mic, but it is sending basically no audio signal to my audio interface and DAW. At first I tought it was my cables or my interface, but I have another microphone and it worked perfectly fine, I even tried using another interface and cables and it just did not work. I do take care a lot of my production equipment and I dont even have a year with the mic. I really hope you can help me

Not much to say, the mic is great on it own or using the software. Just make sure, if you don’t own a ILOC license USB doogle, you’ll need to buy one to unlock the Slate Digital software.

Super crisp sound, and it is definitely worth the money. It can truly emulate several types of popular mics and some of my favorite singers use it. I’ve been using this one in the studio for years! Finally have my own. Highly recommended.
