The Audio-Technica AT2020USB+ condenser microphone is a remarkable choice for those seeking an exceptional recording experience. With a focus on simplicity and quality, this microphone is tailored for singers, podcasters, and creators looking to elevate their audio game without a steep learning curve.
At the core of its features is the condenser microphone itself, renowned for its studio-grade performance. The AT2020USB+ connects to your device effortlessly via USB, eliminating the need for complex setups or additional audio interfaces. It’s a true plug-and-play solution that streamlines the recording process.
One of its standout features is the cardioid polar pattern, ensuring that your recordings capture the intended sound source while effectively reducing background noise. This makes it ideal for vocals, single instrument recordings, and podcasting. The cardioid pattern is especially useful when you need to isolate your voice from ambient sounds.
To add convenience to your recording experience, the AT2020USB+ comes equipped with a built-in headphone jack. Real-time monitoring allows you to hear your recordings as they happen, enabling you to make necessary adjustments on the fly. This feature is especially valuable when recording vocals or podcasts, as it helps you achieve the best results with minimal hassle.
The microphone itself is built to last, with excellent shock mounting and a reliable pivoting stand mount. This durability ensures that your investment in the AT2020USB+ will serve you well for years to come. It’s a testament to Audio-Technica’s commitment to delivering quality audio equipment.
In the realm of pros, the AT2020USB+ boasts exceptional sound quality. The microphone captures audio with remarkable clarity and warmth, making it a fantastic choice for vocals and podcasting. Its budget-friendly price tag further adds to its appeal, offering impressive value for its cost. Moreover, the microphone’s ease of use and real-time monitoring capabilities are noteworthy advantages for both beginners and experienced users.
As for the cons, the microphone’s cardioid pattern, while excellent for isolating sound sources, may not be the most versatile choice for users looking to record multiple voices or instruments simultaneously. Additionally, it’s important to note that the AT2020USB+ exclusively offers USB connectivity, which may not suit advanced setups requiring XLR connections.
In conclusion, the Audio-Technica AT2020USB+ condenser microphone is a reliable and cost-effective option for those who prioritize sound quality and user-friendly features. If you’re a singer, podcaster, or content creator in search of a microphone that offers exceptional performance without the complexities of high-end equipment, the AT2020USB+ is an excellent choice that won’t disappoint.

I am a mobile DJ and used the AKG Perception Wireless System at gigs for years. Eight possible channels with very reliable vocals and few problems with dropouts or static. Easy to set up and use. Only uses one AA battery and did great with using a rechargeable battery! There is some moderate handling noise with this the microphone. The handheld transmitter is lightweight and, although it is plastic like most mics at this pricepoint, it has solid construction – still looks great after many uses, only some of the words on the microphones have started to fade. I like that cone-type design of the mic handle – allows the user to hold it at a width where it is comfortable for them and fits multiple different mic clips. This system is more reliable then a lot of wireless microphone systems that are more expensive.I am moving on from this AKG system, largely due to the on/mute/off switch. I emcee events and pass the microphone to others for toasts and speeches. About twice a year, someone thinks they are doing a favor and turns off the microphone after their speech. I get the mic back & am about to announce what comes next and notice it is off. As the entire audience is looking at me awaiting an announcement, I have to turn back on the mic and wait for about 4 seconds for it to sync with the receiver before I can speak into the microphone, which creates an awkward silence. A secondary thing I don’t like about the on/mute/off switch is that it is a little trickier to get to the mute setting in the middle without overshooting to on or off.I contacted AKG costumer service a couple of times with questions and they always got back to me with helpful answers.Unfortunately, the next level up AKG wireless handheld system (WMS 470) uses the same type of on/mute/off switch.Another feature that I want is the ability to scan for best frequencies/channels to use – a feature only available on more expensive systems.I also purchased the Perception Wireless lavaliere (small clip-on microphone) systems and did not have a much luck with those.Overall the AKG Perception 45 is a great handheld wireless handheld microphone system for the money. I would probably keep it as my main system if I weren’t having random people using my mics every weekend.

I use to own an old model of this mic by AKG so I was excited to purchase this one. This one is much smaller and lighter and only uses one double a battery as opposed to two like the old model which used two. The mic is clear and Had no feedback when I tested it by speaking about 5 inches from a 15 inch speaker with horn. The only problem is that there is no battery level indicator to show how low the battery level is. So I was in the middle of a speaking engagement and the battery died. Very embarrassing. I hope that AKG would fix this problem. Other than that it is a great mic.

I have been using a similar product by Shure since August. It pressed too tightly on my head, had a weak antenna, and didn’t have amazing sound. The AKG system is amazing! Its’ comfortable on my head, has a strong antenna and smaller power pack, and produces a life like recording of my voice. I teach online everyday, so these are important features for me.

I just upgraded to this newer model and I feel confident it will last many years. I really put the old model through the test with step aerobics. It is used at least six times a week and gets plenty of abuse. I have never had to mess with the channels. Rarely any feedback unless inches in front of the speaker. It is NOT flimsy and IS very reliable – unlike other brands I have tried. After six years, the old model started having a short just above the mic head – if you touched it, staticy noises would occur until you stopped touching it. The noises didn’t continue, however, if I were to jump up and down. I just made sure not to have the mic head up against my cheek. But now its time to have a new one and I bet it will last even longer.

This is my 2nd AKG Sports wireless mic set. I’m a drummer and this is mic set up works great for live shows! It’s reasonably priced and delivers thick clear sound quality. My last one lasted for over 5 years. Money well spent if your on a budget.

Keep in mind that you have to have access to a wall outlet (120 AC) in order to use the setup. The receiver needs power, and does not run off a battery.Otherwise this is a great mic. Very secure on my head. It sounds fantastic. It has far, far superior sound quality than cheaper mics. Totally worth the money if that’s important to you.
