If like me you like to use your phone for your every day Vlogging, and thus want the best audio quality for your videos, search no more, this microphone is the one to get !This is a “clip on” directional shotgun microphone for your Smartphone. I have an Android phone (Samsung S7) and it works perfectly with it (using TRRS connector). You can probably use it with an iPhone with a 3.5mm socket (if your iPhone uses a TRRS connector for audio input) but the adjustable mount should work with most other Smartphones with a 3.5mm socket. It is a directional microphone, which means it will only pick up what is in front of it. This means you won’t pick up any nasty noises behind you when you are trying to shoot your videos.Included with this microphone is a large windshield (“dead-cat” style). This is handy for shooting video outside and should remove most wind noise from the microphone. At the back of the microphone is a headphone port. This is useful for checking your audio while you are filming. This microphone does not have any gain control so if your sound levels are too loud you will need to correct them using your video camera app’s audio gain control. Facebook live has no audio gain control in the app so this microphone may not be suitable for loud performances in such case.Overall, it’s a great portable microphone, which will turn your phone into a nice pro recording device. Comica is a brand I already trusted before for my audio equipment, and so far they always impress me by the quality and performance of their products for the price. So I think I will stick with them for now, and I definitely recommend you to give that gear a try if you are in the market for a good smartphone microphone. You will not be disappointed.

I’ve been creating YouTube videos for a couple years now and one thing I never keep constant is the microphone. There are microphones for different purposes, and this microphone is a must for someone who is creating content with their phone. I thought my phone’s (Samsung Note 8) mic quality was decent, but then I used this microphone, and I knew I had been missing out for a long time. The audio sounds so much more crisp and high quality. It’s really nice that the pop filter and wind screen are included. That way, you don’t hear any annoying POP sounds or wind noise if you’re outside. It’s super easy to use. I tested it on 2 phones (Samsung Note 8 & LG G3) and it automatically worked with the original camera app on both phones. I did not have to download anything. It’s plug and play. When you press record, you also get a little notice saying that the audio is being recorded from the mic. There are no batteries or charge required. Just connect it like you would any headphones, and you’re good to go.The microphone itself feels high quality. This is definitely not going to break if you bump it, you should still take care of it though. With all that said, I’m not a vlogger, but I sure am considering it with a mic like this. As long as you have a decent phone camera, there is no need to get this super expensive camera for good picture and audio quality. This microphone gives you that good audio. And not everybody has a whole lot of money to invest in a super high quality camera. This will open doors, improve, and preserve your quality while you save some money. I strongly recommend it!

My initial review of this mic is VERY poor. I’ve tried recording through my Galaxy s10 Plus and my iPad Pro. Both devices sound fine through the built-in mic’s, but begin buzzing loudly when the mic is plugged in. I’ve blown out the input jacks, and cleaned the tip of the mic to be sure. I’ve requested a replacement, and will update once the replacement arrives.

Perfect solution for your cell phone that has a 3.5mm audio jack. Having a good solution for anyone looking to use your cell phone to record video AND have good audio quality. Check out my video, I sample this microphone on my older Google Pixel XL phone, and recorded some video without the microphone to compare. I also tested this on my current Google Pixel 3 XL phone, but since the 3 XL does not have a 3.5 mm audio jack, I used the Google provided dongle, and provided samples in this video. My suggestion: if you have a phone with a dedicated 3.5 mm audio jack, then I would highly recommend this solution. if you phone needs a dongle to make this work, in my experience, it is not the best solution (notice the popping and ‘hot’ mic with the 3 XL).Perfect for those looking to start vlogging… and want great sound. small / portable, and great to get started with you device.Oh, last thing, there is a pass through 3.5 mm port on the back, so you can “hear” in real time what it is picking up… great for sampling and making sure you are getting the audio you want from the microphone.

My wife does a lot of Instagram stories and videos but the inbuilt mic is not the best when it comes to voice quality. To address the issue I purchased this affordable mic and very happy with the quality of this mic.The build quality is great, the design is well thought out and audio quality is also very good. Of course, you can’t compare to a pro level but it is much better than your standard built-in mic.We are iPhone users so it doesn’t work right out of the box as it comes with the audio pin, not the iPhone jack so you will have to use the one that comes with your iPhone if you are on iPhone 8 and newer version. but that’s not a big deal.It also comes with a wind cover similar to dead cat wind blocker which is an added bonus if you are shooting a video in windy weather. It does a fair job to cut out the wind so definitely a plus there.Overall a good product, affordable and you can carry it in your bag or purse easily. Doesn’t take too much space.
