Used the new AKG C636 for the first time last night. Awesome clarity. The best mic I’ve ever used. But why so expensive on Amazon? It’s $499 on AKG website.

I bought this item for studio recordings. When I attached the mic cable to the AKG C636 and plugged it into my Line 6 amp, there was no response. I even switched the option on the mic, no sound.
I used my old mic on the same cable and had no problem. I tested the mic using another cable and it still didn’t work.
I also used the phantom switch on my multi track recorder to no avail.
Delivery was prompt, but I’m returning item.
