I bought the at-2035 as a refurbished mic and it sounds great and I’m very happy with it

Used my new AT 2035 in a single mic set up for the first time last weekend for our church picnic to play bluegrass. Our electric base player had his own little amp and was separate. But we did banjo, guitar, and fiddle/mandolin plus two part vocals all through this mic. It was really a clean sound. Everyone in our little group liked it. We were not pushing it real loud for our purposes and setting. And several people remarked how it almost didn’t sound like there was a sound system even in play. It was very natural. And I had no problems setting it up and getting it going. Just make sure you have phantom power and you are good to go. We didn’t use a monitor so I don’t know how tricky that work that with this mic. But we positioned the mic just below head level so it would be a little closer to the guitar. It picked up the guitar just right (only used for rhythm) for the mix with the vocals and the supporting and soloing banjo and fiddle.

Definitely better than the at2020. Not by much but the bass is a lot better in my opinion. Vocals sound so crisp. The rumble switch helps a lot with blocking out unwanted noise. As long as u have an enclosed space this mic records on par with the most expensive ones. Its perfect for making songs in a home studio.

I’ve fallen in love with singing again and I have this mic to thank in part for it. Sometimes when acoustics in a room aren’t ideal, it can be difficult to really hear your true voice and make adjustments during practice. The sound from this mic is so clear and defined in my headphones that tweaking the sound of my voice is so effortless now. My hearing isn’t the best either after years of loud concerts and working on airplanes. This is my favorite way to practice singing now!

In all fairness to Amazon & Audio Technica, I have to come clean about the “Bad Review” I wrote on the (refurbished) AT2035 Microphone. I got my horse before my cart, and said the mic did not work. However, it was not the fault of the mic, but the fault of a bad cable, which I tracked down today. I returned the first mic, which I only thought was bad. I bought a NEW AT2035 (from Amazon) and it worked just fine… after I discovered my bad cable. This cost me extra money, but that’s the price I paid for not being more thorough.

My first condenser mic and I LOVE it. Awesome sound, great price… looks good. I keep it in a case and it gets transported regularly. I’m careful with it, but it had held up great. My only complaint about this awesome mic is the area where your XLR plugs into is a little small. Some cables, such as the Amazon basics XLR won’t fit in the base. I’m lucky I have another XLR that fits, but because of this, it’s difficult to shop for an XLR (I had first bought one at a music store, and that didn’t fit either).

This mic is pretty amazing. A lot of bang for your buck. I bought this as used, but there is not one scratch or dent on it. It looks perfect and functions perfectly. The sound is incredible when paired with a focusrite scarlet 2nd gen. Great deal, dealer, and transaction- thank you for a great experience!!! This is a no-brainer. Buy it! Enjoy it!!! And you’re welcome.

Might as well be considered brand new, the other reviews threw me off because they come off as fake reviews due to poor spelling… but this is the real deal, even got the warranty card to send to Audio Technica for a 1 year warranty. I ended up buying another shortly after because I was happy with my first one. Hoping to buy another 2 before the summer hits! Thank you.
