I absolutely love these mics, but highly recommend replacing the power supply (the thing that plugs into the wall). Mine literally blew up, spewing flames for a second or two and then dying. Luckily it didn’t damage anything else, and replacing it with another 12 volt power supply fixed it. The one that comes with it is pretty anemic at 500 ma @ 12 volt, I swapped it with a 1amp @ 12 volt one (twice the power) and all seems well. This one should work for example:

Note that I haven’t tested that particular model though.

But I love these mics so much that even though it almost started a fire I’m still giving them 5 stars. I tested them side by side with a wired Sure SM58 and I couldn’t tell the difference. I’m not saying there isn’t one, but its subtle if there is.

The range is spectacular too, I’m getting at least a hundred feet. And as you get out of range or the batteries die they simply fade to silence as opposed to broadcasting static or making noises.

They do have one big downside though: as you move away from the mics the sound drops off faster than with most mics, so people really do have to “eat the mic” to be heard properly. Its a pretty big downside, if they’d only fix that issue these would be perfect.

I’ve been djing weddings and running karaoke for 5 years now, and I can say I enjoy these microphones. I bought them back in May and they have been very reliable. I have only ran into one issue I have noticed, and that is the microphone lifespan.

I use these for many events, and karaoke is kind of demanding in terms of quality on the microphone itself. When I first started using these, I found the quality to be great and clear. I had one guy sing too close and loud into the handset and it caused the base unit to stop sending audio to my mackie board. It took about 10 minutes to rest before it was good to go.

The other situation I am currently running into is with sound quality on a few of the microphones. Being that I do run karaoke, I bought this set with expectation that I would have many people wanting to sing together and have had that happen on numerous occasions. With that said, my 266.2mhz and my 215.5mhz microphones are having the most issues when it comes to sound output quality. I can use the other two and the sound is crisp, while the two in subject are a little distorted. When speaking they give off a dry rasp sound which hasn’t happened before. I am unsure if this is from extended use (being these two are the ones used the most) or if it is something electrical inside the handsets.

Overall, these were a great buy and great product. They are definitely good for what I do, and will upgrade eventually.

Excellent system for the money. When I first received my unit it would not power up. I emailed the seller and received a quick response followed up by a phone call. Seller sent a second unit and a shipping label to send back defective unit. Few days later my new unit arrived and I packaged up defective unit and sent back to seller. I installed new unit, works perfectly. I’m very pleased with this system. Even more impressed with the customer service I received. I never had a seller send me a replacement item without first getting the defective one back. This system is well worth the money and the range is impressive. Signal easily travels between walls and clearity is no different then my plugged in microphone. Only thing I wish was different was the placement of the antennas, I wish it was in the back of unit instead of the front but I’ll sacrifice appearance over quality. This microphone system was extremely easy to install and I like the ideal of being able to replace batteries instead of recharging them. I doubt I’ll ever use all four microphones at once but if I need to I know I can. I purchased this system for a home karaoke system. Its my opinion that this wireless microsystem is way overkill for residential use but for the money and what I saw in the ratings it was the best buy for what I wanted and I glad I purchased this microphone.

Bought these for Karaoke. They sound just as nice as more expensive sets. VHF mics are more susceptible to outside interference but I haven’t had issues.
My only complaints are the “frequency” display on the front. It mimics a higher end model where you can alter the mic frequency. Why the fake display ? The product is a good one without having to result to cheap dishonest marketing tricks.
The wire antennas seem a little flimsy and I’m concerned they might be easily broken.

Update: I’ve had these mics for a few years now, and I’m still pleased with them. I bought a second set for when I have to do two locations for mics, (wedding ceremony and reception) The lapel mics suffer from what every lapel mic does, and really have to be tailor placed for each person, and even then the pick up any wind or russle of fabric.
Bar owner friends of mine bought a set for karaoke at the bar and they’ve been going strong for over a year now. 4 + hours a week being handled by intoxicated bar patrons, and no sign of quitting.
Range is great, no problems there, other than line of sight issues with walls between the mic and the reciver.
