The box for this arrived looking like it had passed through the singularity of a black hole and was crushed simultaneously in every direction at once. Upon removing the base and stand from the product packaging, I noted that it was in pristine condition. Either a testament to the product durability or the seller is using old boxes for some reason. Either way it’s a great product and works well, especially with a short whip extension which easily screws to the high quality 5/8″ threaded end. Those are some nice threads on the end by the way. If you have a plastic adapter for your shock mount, it will easily crossthread it as they’re sharp as knives. Be careful, it won’t cut you but you may be annoyed at needing a new shock mount because you made yours all wobbly.

I use this on a small table to record my acoustic guitar. It is very sturdy, and the base is weighed nicely to keep it well planted on the table. One thing that would be nice to add: a flush mount riser so that the mic clip can attach right at the stand. For my purposes that was the ideal height. I made some 3D printed spacers and adapters to accomplish this.

My previous Condensor Microphone was tall so I didn’t need a stand, but the Neumann TLM 103 is quite a short thing, so to protect and elevate it, this stand was perfect.
It’s just a heavy piece of metal with a screw that’s compatible with most devices, certainly can’t see it toppling over.

I purchased this stand to use with my heavy amateur radio microphone. It is a heavy duty stand that supports my mic well and doesn’t take up a lot of space. Great value for the price.

The product is not a Lightweight product and i believe this the the whole point of the Desktop Microphone Stand, Strong build with rubber grip at the bottom

Happy tingles for any 3DIO mic owners! Here’s the stand you need!
So as many know, the 3DIO mics come with no stand, but this one? Perfect! Its nice and heavy so it can hold up the massive microphone no problem, and the thread size is exactly what’s needed! Its also affordable! So after dropping 400$ on the mic, you don’t have to cry at your bank account when purchasing the stand!
One draw back I had is that you have to really *force* the base onto the pole part of the stand in order to screw it in, to the point that I worried it came stripped. I’ll still rate it 5 stars since its a small complaint, but my husband had to strong arm the thing on.

This is a very heavy duty mount that weighs quite a bit to hold your very expensive microphones. It is a single height but I can confirm it worked well and was a good height for my Shure SM7B. Overall the quality seems great!

It’s a simple, sturdy heavy stand. What more could you want? I guess my only complaint is that I wish it were a little taller.

This stand is very stable. I’m using it with a Blue Yeti microphone mounted on a Blue Radius Shockmount with a Blue Pop Filter, which is a rather heavy combination. I first tried mounting the combo on a
On Stage DS7200B Adjustable Desk Microphone Stand, Black
, which I bought for its height-extension ability, but the entire setup was front-heavy. While it wouldn’t completely fall over, a slight nudge would make it start tipping over; I didn’t feel safe using that stand. This Samson stand, while lacking the height adjustment capabilities, does not have that problem. It is simply much heavier and the base is wider.
I have to dock a star for two reasons. The first is that the vertical metal rod has a sticker on it that leaves super-sticky residue when you peel it off. The “On Stage DS7200B” had the same problem, but the case there was much worse: there were two stickers instead of one, the stickers were bigger, and the residue was even stickier, to the point that it was impossible to get off without solvents. I didn’t have to resort to solvents on the Samson stand, but despite being super careful when peeling off the sticker, I still had to spend a good 20 minutes cleaning up the leftover gunk; it is a strong residue.
The second reason is that the bottom of the base has a circular ring of rubber which only comes half installed; the strand of rubber is split in half and “derails” from the inset near both endpoints, so only about 3/4 of the strand is in the ring. The rubber strand is actually glued to the base in this way, and when I first saw the situation I thought I had gotten a defective product. You are forced to grab both ends of the strand, pry them from where they are glued, and push them into the inset. Unfortunately, this ALSO leaves behind sticky residue!
I bought two stands, and both of them came this way, so I don’t believe my experience is a freak incident.
In short, the stand itself is great, but it did give me a couple of headaches.

I was originally looking at the Rode microphone stand for 3x the price, but decided to give the Samson MD5 5″ stand a shot first, given the price and general reviews. I am not disappointed!
The weight of this stand is impressive and it holds my very heavy (2lbs) Rode PodMic with ease. There’s a nice padded ring on the bottom (see my review photos) that helps manage the weight.
What I like:
– Heft of stand is impressive
– Value is unbeatable!
– Threaded rod is easy to insert and adjust for microphones
– Padding ring helps to make it less aggressive on desk
– Branded sticker is easy to remove for those of us seeking that all-black visual
What I don’t like (small things only):
– Limited to just the 5″ height with rod provided (would have loved an 8″ rod for additional $)

The King Bee 2 is a microphone I’ve wanted for a good bit. Shuffling through many product reviews and found it has the sound I want. One of the big problems is its WEIGHT! 2.5LBS is alot for common boom arms and my limited space didn’t help either for finding the right stand for this beast! I trust Samson products and gave this stand a shot and it holds it perfectly and the weighted base doesn’t take up much space. I saw nobody reviewing this stand taking on the king. So I’m hoping this will relieve some head aches and worries for future king owners!
