I use this mixer to run both my guitar and vocals though. Honestly, for guitar it sounds better than any guitar amp I’ve ever used. I don’t understand why more people aren’t just ditching guitar amps for a mixer/PA rig. Sounds absolutely amazeballs. Like mind-blowing clarity vs. a traditional stack.

Really nice product for the money. The body is metal and feels solid without weighing a ton. The knobs feel like quality and have the right amount of dampening. The power plug into the body has a screw on connector that can be engaged to prevent accidental disconnection.

The USB interface connected to the Windows 10 PC and was recognized automatically. It shows up in Windows as an audio source.

This was used to mix a Yamaha digital piano using 2 x 1/4” TRS and several different Shure microphones using XLR. Everything worked well and sounded good. It was nice to have built in FX to give a more textured sound to live music streamed through the PC. You can control the FX amount on a per input basis which is nice, but can only have one Effect at a time on the board. Nothing more is expected at this price point.

The unit does get hot at the top near the power input if the unit is on for a while. It never became an issue.

Overall very satisfied with the value and would buy again.

I’m using this product to connect a single set of monitor speakers to multiple audio interfaces. It’s very clean and perfect for this task. I tried a few other brands including the “bargain” Behringer and what a mistake. This unit is super clean and of course Yamaha knows how to make high quality audio products. Just get it.

I upgraded from the now discontinued JBL monitor mixer. Wow, what a difference. It cannot be stressed enough, cables choices are important. I am using 1/8 – XLR for one PC into channel one, no hiss, tone control!; then RCA to XLR from my record player’s preamp to channel two. Perfect, so clear and warm, no hiss!; the second PC is 1/8-1/4 in channel three, and then the bass amp’s headphone out 1/4-1/4 to channel 4. For speakers I am running the JBL 305P MkII 5-inch powered studio monitors, and am using XLR speaker cables and again…no hiss! It did take me a bit to balance the Gain/Channel Vol/Main Vol, but I could not be happier with this purchase. Way to go Yamaha!!! As a musician, particularly a bassist, it is so nice to be able to control tweak a recording so I can hear my latest bass line I need to learn.

I been using the Yamaha MG10XU 10-Input Stereo Mixer for some time now, and I must say it’s a fantastic piece of audio equipment that has greatly improved my sound setup.

First and foremost, the build quality is exceptional. The mixer feels robust and durable, and all the knobs and switches have a solid, professional feel to them. This instills confidence that the unit will stand up to the rigors of regular use.

Sound quality is where the MG10XU truly shines. The microphone preamps are clean and transparent, capturing audio with impressive clarity. The EQ controls are precise and allow for fine-tuning, which is essential for achieving the desired sound. Whether I’m recording music or running sound for live events, this mixer consistently delivers outstanding audio quality.

The built-in effects processor is a notable feature of the MG10XU. It offers a variety of high-quality effects that can enhance vocals or instruments. The ability to apply effects without needing external processors is a significant advantage, especially for live performances.

The USB connectivity is a real game-changer for me. It allows for easy integration with recording software, making it a versatile choice for home studios. The mixer also serves as a reliable audio interface, which simplifies the recording process.

One thing I appreciate is the intuitive layout of the controls. Even if you’re new to mixing, you’ll find it relatively easy to navigate and start producing great sound quickly. The inclusion of LED level meters is a helpful addition for monitoring signal levels.

In summary, the Yamaha MG10XU 10-Input Stereo Mixer is a top-notch audio mixer that offers exceptional sound quality, durability, and versatility. Whether you’re a musician, podcaster, or sound engineer, this mixer is an excellent choice that can elevate your audio production to the next level.

The audio quality coming out of the mixer is night and day compared to my focusrite 2×2. It’s just super clean and full as well as the massively better gain controls that helps bring out speakers and microphones.

I wished I had bought it sooner, but got a great deal on Prime day so this was meant to be. Now I’ll be doing more podcasting and enjoying the studio quality audio from this mixer.

If you’re on the fence, just get it for the build quality, audio quality and enjoy.
