Sounds great, versatile swiss army knife of a box.

Latency is outstanding on a mac. Works great with every synth, guitar, bass, or mic I’ve thrown at it.

Overly priced imho. Does what it claims. Aesthetically pleasing. Learning curve a little to steep for me though.

    Version One

I got this from a different vendor, so while my review won’t likely show up in the main list, it’s still valid. I’ve been using it for a while now. The issue with the little plug on the back is a bummer; the little USB jack on the back is a little loose sometimes, and moving other cables around flashes all of the power to the unit (and whatever you have plugged into its USB hub). Every once in a while I have to go through and switch a bunch of settings to get an input to work properly; some of the inputs are a little finicky. Haven’t traced down exactly what is causing that yet. It has a ton of ports though. I use mine with a Mac workstation almost exclusively, and while I like the way the box looks, the on-screen software makes it easier to control and tell what’s going on better than the actual interface on the device itself.

It is a bit pricey for what you get, but it is a very nice interface; and you can use it standalone. Having the multiple outs works great in my studio. It can get a bit warm if you’re recording with a lot of interfaces and using the hub, but from what the engineers say, the external temp is the internal temp, so this thing doesn’t get that hot at all compared to other components. The volume knob can be a little glitchy, for instance to wake up my monitors I have to almost crank it all the way before it will signal them. (That could be the monitors themselves though, but I didn’t have that issue with a different interface before.)

All-in-all I think I would buy this again. I’ve not seen anything on the market that I would get that has the ports I need with the same level of detail.

The first impression is very good. Playback, instrument input, Jack worked just fine. DAC and ADC sound great as advertised.

The unit works well. I tested it with microphones, guitars, different headphones. Good stuff for your getting-there professional home workflows.
The only macroscopic issue I found is the incredible use of the micro USB connector instead of a resilient, well tested, long lasting USB Type B. The cable provided is sturdy and high quality, but it ends in this tiny tiny connector and every movement of the unit has an impact on the port, which brings signal and power. A deal-breaking single point of failure for me. Hence my 3 stars. If you plan to use this on the go, I suggest you to re-evaluate the documentation and this point in particular. This is a pity, so much potential minimized by such a simple, neglected principle.

    Other points:
    – The user interface of the panel is not responsive, and looks very small on high pixel density displays. When trying to look cool goes wrong. But I loved the hardware button to start it.
    – The unit gets very warm during normal usage. After a normal session the heat started to concern me.

Great semi pro interface. I have been recording for 31 years. My fuse is solid reliable and clean. Its about semi pro dynamic wise and i needed a usb fan to keep it cool, make sure the power is plugged in. Clean Clean Clean. A nice step towards a professional studio. I’m recording some albums, you won’t regret it. Versatile and reliable.

They mistakenly labeled the inverse polarity switch as a “phase invert” switch. At this point, if they don’t know the difference, I don’t trust them to make a quality audio product.
