There isn’t a better mic stand on the market.

If you have an expensive microphone, get this.

Prompt shipment. Having a small room to use I wanted a small base and weighted. This base is heavy and the added boom reaches my needed areas without relocating it.

Awesome mic stand base, if you don’t mind the weight. Very stable.

I didn’t have any issues with the threading, matched with a brand-new Atlas PB21X Extendable Length Boom.

Note: this is just the base.

I like the sturdiness of the stand. It cannot be beat for the money. It is a great base for the addition of several booms that have heavy microphones on them. If you have good attachments, this is an excellent base to mount them on.

There are rubber feet on the base, and after about 2 days, one of the feet broke off. It’s riveted in, not screwed, so you can’t fix it. For this brand and price, it is not acceptable.

The Atlas Professional Mic Stand is kind of old-school. It is really heavy compared to most of the modern folding-leg-type of stands that are popular today. This, of course, is its strength for my application. I use a pair of large diaphragm condensor mics on a stereo bar for live recording and the folding type stands just don’t have the heft to support the microphones. I am using an Atlas boom to gain a little more height and the rig is really stable. I like the all-black finish but the chrome finish is nice also. The stand should have a long life. I highly recommend this stand but be prepared to get some exercise when you lift it!

This thing is great for home recording, especially if you have an expensive mic you don’t want to come crashing down.
