I was willing to pay 100+ dollars for a quality and easy to move arm (this was on sale for half off when I got it), and so I was looking at reviews on YouTube and the video I found for a different arm had this arm in their video as a baseline, because it was an arm they really liked and he showed it off a little bit before proceeding to the other arms I originally came to the video for. For being half as much (because of the sale) as the other arms I was looking at, but still being easy to move and having good range of motion and sturdiness with no sounds or squeaks gave me a strong belief I wouldn’t be disappointed and I was right! I love it! I strongly recommend saving your money and getting this on sale unless you’re looking for more bells and whistles. A sleeve would have made it 5 stars for me.

It does exactly what it is needed and is very sturdy! I love that the XLR cable is wrapped in the boom itself. However if you somehow break your cable, its impossible rewire a new one inside the same. You would have to cut out your old XLR cable (however that situation is very unlikely and you are more likely to damage the boom itself before working about needing to replace the internal cable). It really gives your desk that professional edge and is very compact and saves space. As we all know table top space is valuable and if we can save it, you’re gold. I personally can’t complain and am very happy with my purchase. I have been using this already for several weeks with no issues.

This stand is great. The XLR cable has a massive amount of length out of the base of the stand. the end pin is standard size and the machining on the bolt is great.

I would have gone for 5 stars, but the springs do hum a bit when I bump the desk with certain mic mounts. To be fair though, the shockmount for my TLM 103 (my main mic) dampens all the spring noise!
The arm is a bit shorter than you may like. It’s perfect for my small VO booth (4×4), but if you have a larger desk, you may want a longer arm.
Still, it’s solid, holds its position very well, and I love the option of either a clamp or screwed-base mount.

Exactly as expected, showed up quickly. I keep reaching to it unconsciously to turn on the light that my brain keeps assuming is attached to it.. 😉

Works great actual built a lot better then you would think and the XLR cable is easy to work with and a good Lenght

I work remotely and practically live on Zoom calls. On top of that, my new role requires me to give formal webinars and record videos. When I switched over to a professional mic, my husband loaned me a tripod mic stand with weighted boom. It took up so much room and partially blocked the pathway to my desk. This boom arm is the perfect solution! I was able to secure it onto the side of my desk, and can now pull my mic as close as I need it to be, high or low, in front of my camera or off to one side just out of view. The moving joints and swivel base can be left to move freely or locked into position with a thumb screw. Very happy with this purchase!

I needed a table mounted stand for use for Zoom meetings and podcast production. I selected this one in part because of the integrated cable. It was very easy to assemble out of the box. I don’t know long term how its “tension” will hold up b/c I have had it only about 3 weeks. I am using it with a Zoom mic and although it was easy to mount on the stand the stand adjustments for the mic’s placement seem a little limited.

Actually pretty pissed off about this purchase. Not even a year later and the thing snaps off.
Cheap aluminum. It was pretty evident that this was bound to fail and im not surprised that it did. There was an air pocket within the aluminum clamp that caused a major weak spot which inevitably failed.
STAY AWAY.

I was looking for a boom that wouldn’t make noise and could handle a heavy condenser mic. I works perfect, in fact, if needed, it could handle the weight of two condenser mics!

Very good for price

First of all, this is a nice mic stand. Not my preference over the Rode PSA 1, but second to it maybe in the price bracket. I’m on a learning curve about buying my own equipment versus using someone else’s, so a tip if you’re brand new to this and looking – you can’t squeeze anything bigger than a micro-usb head into the port where the casing can hide wires. I’m not skilled at soldering, so I wrapped my wire between the arms and shrugged it off. It moves and flexes silently, though I had to spend some time bending it around to get it to loosen enough to feel like it would stay in place. Using a Spider Shock Mount and an AT2020 with it, everything works fine. The clamp metal is nice quality, the screws are solid and it’s generally easy to install. Don’t pinch your hand in the bars though, whatever you do. It hurts like hell.
I took a star off because it was purchased as “new” but some of the arm (specifically, the inserts, where there would have been more movement” had damage and chipped paint with scratches, as though it had been used previously. The packaging was a 6/10 at best once you got through the one amazon ships it in. Some of the smaller boxes weren’t even physically capable of staying closed, so as soon as I pulled the arm out of the product box, I had to go scavenging for screws and the hex key. Random pieces of hastily attached clear packaging tape and a series of broken zip-ties half-held the larger cardboard items together, not offering them much protection Obviously, the packaging does not affect the functionality of the mic stand, but I can’t exactly say I was impressed with how it arrived. There was a lot of potential for more item damage or missing parts, which I would have likely replaced at my own cost.
